FAQ about our body suction cups & matcha firming balm

We thought it would be a good idea to share with you our answers to the questions that come up most often in regards to the use of our body suction cups & matcha firming balm.

Enjoy reading!

Is it normal that body suction cups are painful for me?

Some people experience more sensitivity than others when they do the suction cups. This is often because they have water retention or are more congested.

With continued use, the sensitivity subsides as the congestion decreases. You can use the roulette just before the suction cups to drain the tissues, reduce water retention & activate the blood circulation in your legs. This helps significantly to reduce the sensitivity!

Is it normal to have bruises when using the suction cups or the roulette?

The appearance of small bruises is a fairly common “side effect” with the use of suction cups. But don’t worry about it!

Some people react more than others for various reasons, for example if your skin has a tendency to mark, if the suction cups are not used properly or if there is water retention, tissue congestion or poor blood circulation.

In short, here are some tips to avoid or minimize bruising:

  • Use the O’terra roulette just before the suction cups to activate blood circulation, especially if there is congestion or water retention.
  • Always massage with the suction cups from the bottom to the top in order to respect the blood and lymphatic circulation.
  • Use the matcha firming body balm in sufficient quantity. The suction cups must slide well on the skin.
  • Use light pressure on the suction cup for the first few sessions.
  • Use only the roulette for one or two weeks before integrating the suction cups, if necessary.
  • Space the sessions two days apart, if necessary.
  • Drink a lot of water.

Ps: you can also apply arnica cream to help them disappear more quickly.

Can I use an other balm than O’terra balm with my suction cups?

Actually, it is possible to use another body oil with our suction cups. However, you must be careful to choose an oil that is compatible with silicone to avoid breaking the cups and making them porous over time. You also need to make sure that the oil will penetrate the body very slowly, otherwise you will spend your time reapplying oil during your treatment and your suction cups will constantly come off.

The O’terra balm has been specially developed to be compatible and complementary to our suction cups. The balm penetrates very slowly into the skin, which allows the suction cups to be used properly and the treatment to be done adequately. There are no contraindications, since these products are designed to work together to obtain optimal results.

In addition, the matcha balm brings firming effects to the skin & is compatible for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Can I use the matcha body balm with the face cups?

We do not recommend it. The body balm is much greasier than the face balm, which could clog pores and create unwanted effects such as pimples or skin irritations on the face.

It is important to know that each balm was created to complement its own suction cups. Yes, the ingredients they contain have different properties and therefore, do not have the same objectives!

The body balm is made of matcha, which we love for its firming effects, but it also has effects on :

  • body drainage
  • mineralization & toning
  • heavy legs
  • overweight, cellulite & orange peel skin
  • fatigue, stress & tension

The face balm contains jojoba, which is known for its anti-wrinkle properties. It also contains matcha, which maximizes the firming effects. In addition, this balm does not clog the pores of the skin, which is compatible for all skin types (even oily skin!).

Should I keep the balm on or take it off after using the roulette or the suction cups?

It’s up to you.

Obviously, the balm has benefits on the firming effects of your skin. If you let it penetrate, it will continue to work, which is interesting.

However, it will leave a slightly “oily” texture on your skin, depending on its absorption capacity. If you like this texture, we advise you to keep the balm.

If you don’t like this texture, we recommend wiping off the excess balm. The treatment will be just as effective!

When is the best time to do the suction cups?

It doesn’t matter when, what matters is finding the right time for you!

Here are some ideas:

  • Before bed
  • Before bath or shower
  • In the bath or shower
  • After the bath or shower
  • When the children are in bed
  • While listening to TV/shows/movies
  • After work

Is the balm suitable for pregnant women?

Yes, like all of our O’terra products, it contains the recommended percentage of essential oil for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Why are there two suction cups in the package?

The large suction cup is used on the larger areas of the body such as the thighs & buttocks.

The medium suction cup is used on smaller areas of the body such as arms, calves, stomach & top of the knees.

How long does the matcha balm last?

This varies from one person to another depending on the number of areas treated with each use. On average, 50 uses are possible.

After how long can I see results?

We recommend that you use the body suction cups & matcha balm every day for 30 consecutive days to see a great improvement.

After that, we encourage you to continue to do them every day or 3-4 times a week until you get the results you want, then do them as needed to maintain the results.

It is important to know that the suction cups will work on the so-called “surface” cellulite. It is possible to complete, if needed, with in-clinic treatments in order to work on the tougher or deeper cellulite. Our evaluations are free!

Do you have a tip for cupping your buttocks?

Of course we do!

  • Put your leg on a raised surface (ex: the edge of the bathtub)
  • Sit & lean on the opposite side of the buttock you want to work on
  • Ask someone to do them for you

What supplement do you recommend to take in addition to the body suction cups treatment?

It is strongly recommended that you work internally as a complement to the care you are doing externally:

  • Cellulitex (if you don’t have a bowel movement every day, as it has laxative effects)

These two 100% natural supplements work differently and can be combined without any problem!

If you are unsure about the use of these supplements in relation to certain medical conditions or medications, you are encouraged to check with a health care practitioner, such as a doctor or pharmacist.

Can I use suction cups if I have varicose veins?

It is not recommended to use the suction cup treatment in case of severe varicose veins, because it accelerates the blood circulation. If you have simple varicosities, there is generally no problem to perform the treatment, but you must always follow the direction of the blood flow (from the bottom to the top) and you must validate it with a health professional, such as a doctor or pharmacist.

Can suction cups cause varicose veins?

In fact, suction cups will not cause varicose veins in itself, but if you have more sensitive blood vessels, it may break them prematurely.

Will suction cups cause stretch marks?

No. Stretch marks are deep tears in the skin due to the rupture of elastic and collagen fibers. Cupping has nothing to do with this.
